Let’s start this quote of the day section off right! Make sure you take the anonymous poll at the end!
Today’s quote of the day comes from T.D. Jakes and his sermon on November 19th, 2017. The lesson was called ‘Checked You To Bless You’, and, to me, was a powerful lesson on staying connected to your faith and spiritual beliefs in order to be blessed with the things you want in life.
I have not been a religious person in life. I have been a spiritual person, though.
I tried going to church when I was younger, and it didn’t resonate with me. My best friend was very religious, and I went to her church often – including joining her at youth group activities. I enjoyed the fellowship, but the scripture was too heavy for me at the time.
Lately, though, I’ve needed more of a spiritual connection in my life, and T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House online church, has given me that extra oomph of faith, insight, and passion that I have been needing.
In fact, I crave watching his sermons. My soul is yearning for it. And I feel really good about my life and that reconnection I’m experiencing with my spiritual self.
I highly recommend giving his church and sermon a go if your soul and faith has been lacking something.
One of the many great things T.D. Jakes said was this:
This is a great reminder that you shouldn’t be focusing your life on things. How many things you have, what kind of things they are, and whether or not they match up to other people’s things is not what matters in life.
When things have you, life can get really challenging. Life can start to never feel good enough. Sadness comes into your life. And, you may do stuff that is out of your nature, such as lie, steal, or cheat. And, that always ends badly.
You may even live your life according to how much money or things you have, which causes you to forget about what really matters in life – your relationships, your spirituality, your happiness, your health, and your mission and passion.
As T.D. Jakes said in his sermon, you can make it without those things, but you cannot make it without the connection to what gave you this life and faith.
And what’s been proven over and over again is that if you maintain your faith through ups and downs in life as best you can, you will eventually receive the things that enrich your life.
